Apple

These last few weeks have been very hectic....I've had a lot going on!

On opening day, Ian, Eric, and I went to Batman. GREAT MOVIE. I enjoyed it a lot. The next day, Ian and I drove to Minneapolis and enjoyed the fine music of Ween at the Roy auditorium.

It was a wonderful show.

This past weekend my brother came to visit. We saw Batman again on Friday. Saturday, we picked up Ian's nephew and headed to Noah's Ark Waterpark for the day. We got there early and hit all of the good rides before the crowds. We left in the afternoon because we were all pretty much exhausted. It was a very fun day though.

I was extremely exhausted Saturday night all through Sunday. My parents came to pick up my brother on Sunday. We hung out around town for a couple of hours. I pretty much just laid around all day.

This week is a little horrifying at work. There is so much to do. I'm just taking it one day at a time. This weekend I have nothing planned, and am looking forward to that for once.

Okay, I saved the best news for last: last week I purchased a MacBook! I've been wanting a Mac for quite awhile now, so I finally bought myself a MacBook. It is nice having a laptop. I'm going to get the Adobe Creative Suite from work for free. I can't wait to design things for fun!!

Welcome, Kaeden!

On Sunday afternoon, we welcomed Ian's nephew, Kaeden, into the world! He is a beautiful, healthy baby boy!

Independence Day!!

I've had a GREAT weekend so far!! Thursday night I went super-shopping after work. I got a lot of good things: shirts, shorts, shoes. Yeah! Friday morning we woke up and drove to Johnson Creek for some shopping at the outlet mall before the game. Well, the only store we made it to was the Adidas store. I bought some cheap shoes, and then remembered that I can't wear them to work because they are a Nike company. Oops. Oh well! So, we both bought a pair of shoes and left for the game. Great game!! I met Frankie Furter of the famous Sausages that race!! We also walked by the others, but Frankie was the first one I could get to for a picture before the lines grew!! It was so exciting. Then, we went to the game and shopped for a bit. I realllllly want a Brewers hoodie, but they are so expensive!! I settled for some Brewers "decals" which turned out to be stupid stickers. Oh well, I'm still putting them on my car and hoping that they don't fall off in the weather. Then, as soon as we walked out, BERNIE BREWER WAS THERE!! I got a picture with him as well! I can't believe I met them both that day...I have been waiting for this since I started going to Brewers games. The game was great too. We sat in the terrace level, which is the highest level at the game, right above home plate. It's really a neat view. The game went REALLY well. I got to see Ben Sheets pitch for the first time. Billy Hall and J.J. Hardy DOMINATED. We won 9-1. The first winning game I've been to this year!!!
After the game, we drove back to Johnson Creek. We stopped in every store, but I didn't find anything. I guess there were a couple of ok things, but I didn't want to stay and try them on so just decided I didn't need them. It was nice walking around and seeing all of the stores, though. After that, we came home for a bit to sit and check on some things on the internet. Then, we headed to De Forest for some fireworks. We thought about going to Madison, but opted against it because we didn't want to deal with traffic. De Forest is the next town over and it is fairly small in size. I think Waunakee and De Forest kind of go in on fireworks together because apparently Waunakee has no show. It was definately your average, small-town fireworks...which was nice because all I really wanted to do was lay on a blanket and watch. Next year I think we may try to go to Rhythm and Booms....and possibly the second show Madison puts on the 4th. This year we just didn't want to deal with showing up late after the game. Who knows...maybe we will have friends in the area by this time next year and we will make plans with them. We shall see, I guess.

After the fireworks, we came home and were exhausted. We went to bed at about 11 and I woke up late (around 8:30) and Ian is still sleeping and it is after 9. Today, I think we are going to relax around the house. Ian has to work tonight. I'd like to do something else this weekend before it's over, but haven't thought of anything yet. I sort of wanted to drive back to Iowa today to go to my cousin's grad party, but am driving there next weekend for a bridal shower so decided against it. It sucks living so far away. Oh well though, I guess. That was my decision!!

I guess I'm done with this blog! More later!

Sweetheart in the Summer

I'm very excited because next week is only a 4-day week! Friday is the 4th of July and I have a lot of fun stuff planned! We are going to a daytime Brewers game. Then, that night, we get to see fireworks! Where? I'm not sure yet. But, I assure you, we will find some!!

Spirit (the cat) is still doing well. She was being sort of bad this morning and ate part of my kitchen rug. Luckily, it was just a plain rug from Family Dollar, so I only spent about six dollars on it. I was still pretty angry though and had to give her a bop on the nose to let her know it is wrong to chew on things. She has also been waking me up at about 4am-5am. Some mornings she tries to wake me up about every five minutes, but the last few days have been better. I don't know how to better *control* her internal clock, and I'm probably not going to try to, but she definitely has a LOT of energy in the early morning hours.

Yesterday we had to drive all the way back to Dubuque to pick up the last couple of boxes from our old apartment and turn in our keys. They had just done a walkthrough that morning and told us the place looked perfect and well taken care of so we are getting our whole deposit back! Hooray! Basically we drove for about four hours that day just to turn our keys in and hear that. Seemed like a bit of a waste. Oh well. Then, last night we went to Wall-e. What a cute movie! I'm pretty sure it was the best I've seen this year.

Today a couple of former coworkers flew to Madison to see me. We went out to eat, and then to the zoo, and finally to the mall to walk around. It was nice to see them and hang out.

Tonight I kind of wanted to go see some fireworks, but Ian worked at 10 and I didn't want to battle traffic alone. I will just wait until next week!!

That's all I have for now. Maybe I'll write more later.

Hello

You may have noticed that I crossed a couple of things off of my "Things I Want" list. One thing was an Ein plush. This has been on my list for quite some time....and I even bid for one or two on ebay...but while I was moving I found out that I actually own one! Problem solved!!

The other thing I wanted was a kitten. Ta-da! I have one! Ian's mom was looking for someone to take her. She's 3 years old, potty trained, has all of her shots, is declawed, and is very sweet and cute. Her name is Spirit. We were going to change the name, but I think we've grown to like it a lot. Plus, she comes when you call her by that name. The only thing is my eyes are a little itchy and I think it's because of all the cat hair. I guess I'll get used to that. Also, she farts a lot.

Yesterday was pretty fun because we went to Shelley's cookout. It was normal for Ian's family gatherings: heated discussion about politics and then Ian's mom and sisters went nuts about him and I "needing" to get engaged. Ian doesn't want to. I wouldn't mind being engaged and having a long engagement, but I'm not rushing things and I want to wait long enough for him to be able to afford a decent ring. They think we should just do it right now. It was kind of funny and extremely embarrassing.

I'm going to try to go to church this morning, so I should probably get ready. I've never been to this church and it is brand new so we'll see how it goes!

Another day, another day...

I think I am beginning to get into the "groove" of things at work. Most things are coming a lot easier, although there are still a lot of challenging projects and things to learn. The people I work with are great-they are extremely friendly and very helpful. This week is a little busier than last week because the art manager is out of town on a business trip so everyone is picking up his work. I am trying to keep up with everyone and take as much as possible off of their hands-especially the simple-but-time-consuming projects that I can easily do. Tomorrow is Friday, which means I will be done at noon! Hooray!

This week has not only been a busy week at work...it's been busy at home. Every night it seems I have been doing something. I cleaned everything really well, I went grocery shopping, and I even decorated my bathroom (it's now a lovely monkey theme!). Tomorrow we are going to a Brewers game. I am very excited-it's only my second game of the year!! We moved here so we would be closer to Milwaukee, but with all of the flooding and re-routing, it's actually going to be a very long drive tomorrow. Saturday we are going to a cookout at Ian's sister's house. Sunday we are going to relax...we might even go to the zoo!!!!

Anyway, I just wanted to give a short update!! I will hopefully post more soon with pictures. :)

I'm Alive!

This is not going to be a long update. I just wanted to let it be known that I'm alive and well. I'm into my second week of work and am enjoying it. It's challenging, but I've been having fun. Also, I love Waunakee and my new apartment. The only downside is that the whole area is flooding this week due to terrible storms and rain over the weekend. We were in the basement for quite awhile last Saturday because of tornadoes nearby. Scary! Anyway, I'm going to bed soon but just wanted to write a quick entry. More later!
