High Five for Friday (Saturday...whoops)

Oops, I'm a day late-haha!

Once again, I'm linking up with http://www.frommygreydeskblog.com/ for another edition of High Five For Friday!

Here are five of my favorite things from this past week:

1. Last weekend we had a party for all of the March birthdays in Ian's family! It was a fun day: 4-wheeler, badminton, cookout, and wine! Oh, and did I mention presents and cake? Awesome.

2. Making decisions. (I don't ENJOY making big decisions, I just enjoy the feeling after having made them!) This week has been a roller coaster and it doesn't even seem like this happened just last weekend, but Ian and I decided not to move back to my hometown. It is too difficult right now. We are going to *try* to move to a town 40 minutes closer than we are now, so Ian can keep his job. I think it will be easier for me to find a job in this area as well since it is within commuting distance to Madison, WI. We spent Sunday afternoon driving around this prospective town and loved it.

3. We saw an amazing apartment on Monday. It was perfect for us--2 car garage, in-unit washer/dryer, allows cats, dishwasher, nice location, etc. When we saw it, we were under the impression that it was available May 1, which was good since we are supposed to be out of our apartment April 30. BUT, we received a phone call the next day saying they made a mistake and the one available May 1st had already been signed for. They did not have another one available until June 1. BUMMER. But, we loved it so much that we decided to apply anyway and either try to stay in our current apartment for another month (unlikely) or stay with family for the month of May. It will be tough, but worth it to live in such a nice apartment!

4. Movies!! I love watching movies with Ian. We went to Sundance Cinemas in Sunday and saw "Jeff, Who Lives At Home." Not exactly my cup of tea, but it was fun nonetheless. I also had a drink, I think it was called an "Izze" (it was, because the blog I am linking up with listed this as one of her favorite things of the week too ha!), that was kind of like a carbonated juice. I got pomegranate and it was a little too tart at first, but once I got used to it, I loved it. Better yet, Friday night we watched on of my favorite movies "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" right from the comforts of our own living room. Perfect!

5. Another Friday fun-day for me!! My mom came to visit me on Friday and we went shopping!! We went to the best quilt shop around here, the mall, Shopko for a huge sale, and Joanne Fabric just because. I had a lot of fun hanging with her for the day. Oh! And we had Noodles & Co. for lunch. My fave. Best kind of day!

High Five For Friday!

Once again, I'm linking up with http://www.frommygreydeskblog.com/ for High Five for Friday!

Here are 5 things I loved about this past week--

1. St. Paddy's Day Weekend/My Birthday Weekend!! I went out with some friends in downtown Wisconsin Dells and it was SO much fun!! We pre-partied with green wine, of course!

2. My cats were being SERIOUSLY cute this week!

3. I have been making some DELICIOUS food lately....all thanks to pinterest!! Look for recipes for these (baked mac n' cheese and taco pizza) in my Top 10 Pins of the Week post tomorrow!

4. Friday Fun Day! Friday was my fiance's day off again this week, so we went shopping. Well, more browsing than shopping because we are poor, but it was still fun!! I did get a few fun things from Forever 21!! They have such cheap and cute accessories!!

5. We finished all but the Christmas special of Season 2 of Downton Abbey this week!! Oh my gosh, I am so sad that I have to wait until NEXT YEAR to see more of this addicting show! I might have to watch season 1 & 2 again soon to hold me over. The CLIFFHANGERS were nuts!!! Geeeeeeez.

High Five For Friday!

I'm linking up with http://www.frommygreydeskblog.com for "High Five For Friday"! Hopefully I will be making this post every week. ;)

Here are some things I LOVED about this week!! (Other than being on spring break which is a given!):

March Madness! Even though I don't know much about basketball, I love filling out a bracket every year! (Excuse the dumb doodles...)

Birthday cards!! My birthday is Sunday, March 18th, and I got a bunch of birthday cards this week from loved ones.

St. Paddy's Day sugar cookies-YUMMMM! My mom made a batch and sent some home. They are going fast!!

This amazing weather!! I couldn't ask for a more beautiful week for spring break!!  And it looks like next week will be just as nice! I had my windows open every day!

5. Friday fun-day!! My fiance has a rotating schedule at work, so he doesn't get the same days off every week! Since he has today off and I am on spring break, we are going to the Henry Vilas Zoo today and doing some "shopping" (probably more looking than shopping since I am trying to save money, but we'll see!)!

Honestly, this has been a REALLY good week! I could keep going, but I will just stick to the five.

My Cat's Tumor Pt. 2 (Graphic Images)

It took me a really long time to write this post. I just...didn't want to think about this situation anymore. I hope it is over forever

You may remember a post from last year about My cat's tumor. Well, it came back. Last summer, in July 2011, we noticed a bump on my cat's chin. The bump turned out to be a tumor, and while it was unlikely that it would spread, it was right below her lip and would surely affect her ability to eat/drink as it grew. We had it removed in August, and hoped that was the end of it.

It wasn't.

In early December, we noticed a bump had returned to my cat's chin. We hoped it was just scar tissue or something similar, so we decided to just keep an eye on it. Over the course of December, it grew enough to become concerning, so we took her to the vet in January. He came to the conclusion that he did not get all of it last time and that it was the same tumor returning.

We set up an appointment as soon as we could, and she had surgery on January 20th.

Post-Surgery January 20, 2012
The vet pretty much took all the tissue he could right down to her jawbone. The incision looked very nasty. In fact, while getting ready to leave the vet, she rubbed it on the side of her carrier and it started bleeding everywhere. I am very squeamish and nearly fainted at the sight of it. They had to put a cone on her so she wouldn't pick at it. She was so miserable. I only left the cone on for one night.

She looked pretty bruised and beat-up for a couple of days, but was not acting different at all. She did really well, and recovered very quickly. The vet called and said the pathologist thought this time the he got it all, though the margins were small. Fingers crossed that they are right!

I took her to get her stitches out 10 days after surgery. She did not like going back to the vet and cried the whole time. She was fine again, though, after I brought her home.
