Ode to Pudding
Jell-o Instant Pudding (chocolate flavor) is probably one of the best things ever invented. I don't give this simply delightful oozy, gooey, bowl of goodness enough of my time. It is so easy to make and tastes so good. So here's to you, Jell-o Instant Pudding Chocolate Flavor. You will forever be in my heart.
Cause Everybody Knows Shes a Femme Fatale
Days off go too fast. I had all kinds of stuff I wanted to get done yesterday, and was only able to get a fraction of it done. Now I work the next three days. I am very much looking forward to relaxing on Sunday. It is going to be a long weekend....

Angry at 10am!!
I just woke up two hours before I would have liked to wake up because I need to do laundry today. Well, at my apartment building there is a laundry room with 2 washers and 2 dryers. There is a calendar in there to sign out what time a person is going to use them. I swear, the people that live here are all illiterate and inconsiderate. Today, I walked down there at 10am (arms loaded with two heavy hampers) and the machines are going. I look at the calendar and right under where I signed out the laundry from 10:00-1:00, someone wrote in 9:00-11:00 (and they obviously started their load at about 9:50 because the machine still had 30 minutes [out of 38 minutes total] left on it and neither dryer was going). I left a note that was not as nasty as I would have liked. I don't know what else to do, aside from knocking on their door and getting into a confrontation. I do not want to do that because everyone who lives here is either big and mean looking; or fat, single mothers who think the world owes them something. This REALLY sucks because the washer was still GOING for 30 minutes and when I finally get down there at 11, they are still going to be using the room! I wanted to wake up and get laundry finished at a reasonable time today. Yeah right. People are constantly disregarding whenever I sign out the room. I never do anything like that to others. It is really annoying because a lot of times I have had it signed out for evening hours, and have been stuck not getting to do it until late at night (7:00 or 8:00). Today was my only day off this week and I am already in a bad mood. So much for relaxation.

Got aesthetic universal saturation in the grip of the morning sun.
Tomorrow is my day off. Yesssssssssssssssss. I am very excited. The only bad thing about tomorrow is that I will be waking up early-ish to do laundry and clean, which will probably take me a majority of the day. Oh well, at least my body can rest.
My car is really bugging me. It is not an old car (2003 Ford Taurus), but when I got it it had quite a few miles on it. Over the winter I hit 100,000 miles. Ever since, thing after thing has just been going wrong. Most importantly, my heater doesn't blow. This happened once a couple of months ago, and my dad took the thing apart and put it back together. It worked fine after that. A couple of weeks ago, it stopped working again. For the first few days, I slammed my door a few times and it would kick on. Now, it won't do anything. It's not incredibly cold (10 degrees-30 degrees most of the time when I'm outside), but my windshield fogs up and I can't defrost it. Also, everything is frozen on my car. My window won't even roll down. Today at work I was STARVING and wanted something hot, but couldn't get my window to roll down; therefore, ruining any chance of going to a drive-thru during break. I wish it were spring (*the snow-less, warm-ish kind of spring). I think a lot of my problems would be solved.
My hands are a mess. They are cut up, torn up, and scabby from handling and ripping open boxes all day long. They also hurt a lot.
I am incredibly dirty/dusty. I think I am going to go and take a nice, hot, long shower.

You stand to win everything. Call it.
I am glad No Country for Old Men won best picture. I thought There Will Be Blood deserved it more though. I hate the Oscars. The reason why I hate the Oscars is because I despise celebrities. But it is nice when deserving movies, directors, and actors win awards for their achievements. The only thing I was quite unhappy with was when Diablo Cody won Best Original Screenplay for Juno. Totally undeserved. The dialogue in that movie made me puke.
Today I discovered that I am no longer working on salesfloor at my job, but am now in charge of autopull. I will be getting my 40 hours a week and working from 2pm-10pm five days a week. Not terrible, but I am afraid I will be stuck working every single Friday and Saturday. At least I still have my Sundays off. I am still in search for another job, though, because the pay just isn't cutting it for me. But, as long as they are giving me 40 hours, I can at least breathe a bit easier.
Today we had another snow storm. This is about the 200th one this season. Okay, that's not true. We sure have had a lot of snow though. I am more than ready for spring, that's for sure.
Well, I guess that is all I have to say today. Here are before-and-after pictures of my marvelous job of giving Ian a haircut. I had never given anyone a haircut before, or even thought about it. I think I did a decent job for my first try.

It is almost Oscar time...
I would really like There Will Be Blood to win for best picture.
I would not be entirely disappointed if Michael Clayton or No Country for Old Men won.
I will be incredibly disappointed if Juno or Atonement wins. Juno was horrible and a disgrace (especially since it was nominated instead of SWEENEY TODD) and I didn't see Atonement, but I am sure it sucked as well.

This Post About Politics Must Be Made
I was completely a Dennis Kucinich supporter, but sadly after he dropped out of the race I had no other candidate to turn to who I could fully support.
I will most likely be voting for Ralph Nader in the 2008 presidential election. It looks as though there is a good chance that he will be running. (He has started an exploritory committee and has said that if he thinks he can raise enough money, he will run..ALSO he will be appearing on Meet the Press tomorrow!). I will not vote for Hillary because, although she may be a better president than Dubya, I don't feel like she will get much accomplished. I like Obama a lot better than Hillary, but I'm afraid there is no comparison between Obama and Nader.
Many people do not like Nader because they feel he ruined the 2000 election. I believe that it was not Nader's fault. Ralph Nader is an exceptionally accomplished man. If not for him, we would not have seatbelts and airbags in every car, we would not have as accurate of labeling on food, we would have higher levels of lead in our environment; the list goes on and on. Take a minute to search for Ralph Nader's accomplishments, there are lists and lists of organizations he founded or sponsored and legislations he's helped pass. He has led countless rallies and spent the majority of his LIFE trying to make this country better for each and every person who lives here. He works for us. At the very least, we need SOMEONE who will turn on the heat. I am tired of hearing the same answers from Hillary and Barack. The reporters are constantly giving them softballs. You know, when Kucinich was in the debates, at least he answered questions and got the ball rolling on some REAL issues (even if the moderators only asked him a couple of questions per debate). I think about Nader's documentary and these words always stick out in my mind: "If you are choosing the lesser of the two evils...you are still choosing evil." I really just want to vote for someone who believes in the same ideals I believe in.

Inspirations have I none-just to touch the flaming dove.
Somehow I managed to sleep from 11pm last night until 11:30 this morning. I think it may have something to do with the fact that I only got about 3 hours of sleep the night before. I do not have to work today again, and it is nice. I spent the day thus far watching horrible movies on television and starting a painting of Lou Reed. I am not an experienced painter, but I try. I haven't had many painting classes and I regret that. I keep telling Ian that if we ever come into money I would like to spend my time taking painting and drawing classes. Also some cooking classes.
I have decided that, now that all of our Valentines candy is gone, we should start eating better. I'm going to start buying more fresh foods instead of easy, right-out-of-the-box meals. I might have to start waking up earlier since they are apparently now scheduling me at 2 in the afternoon at work. I guess I might as well since I will be working right through supper time.
Anyway, I am going to spend the majority of tonight cleaning and (hopefully) doing laundry. I say hopefully because I have yet to venture downstairs to see if there is time left on the time sheet. Some days people are doing laundry all day long, and some days no one does laundry. If we can't get it done tonight, I have time tomorrow. We are also going grocery shopping tomorrow. The Oscars are tomorrow night and Ian is a movie buff so we are going to order in pizza and watch them. I am not a fan of watching celebrities parade around in their fancy little outfits, but I would like to see who wins. I was a fan of There Will Be Blood, Michael Clayton, and No Country for Old Men. I did not care much for Juno and I didn't get to see Atonement, although I am certain I would not have liked it.
Well, I might as well start cleaning. I need to avoid getting sucked into HGTV or another movie because....it happens far to often.

Beggin' for the Beat
Today was a great day off. Ian and I drove to Iowa City and saw the Voom! exhibit at the University of Iowa Museum of Art. It was pretty cool for the most part. We then shopped a bit at Coral Ridge Mall. After that, we ate at the Olive Garden. It was very filling. We left town at about 5 or so, and stopped by my parents house to deliver my mom's birthday present. We chatted with the family for a little bit, and finally headed home. We did stop at Wally World to pick up a scissors and hair trimmer so that I can cut Ian's hair (never done this before...could be an adventure). I also checked my schedule for next week at work and they scheduled me 40 hours. It will be great on my paycheck....but will be horrible on my body. They seem to schedule very sparsely in the afternoon/early evening and that seems to be when all of the furniture calls come in. Hopefully I get a call back from one of the places I sent my resume into so that I won't have to put up with this job much longer.
I almost forgot about the most important thing about today:
Ian bought me part of my birthday present and gave it to me early! IT IS AN iDOG! I've wanted one for awhile for no apparent reason. It is so cute! I love it.
Also, here is a picture of Ian and I after stuffing our faces at Olive Garden. Not the best picture, but it was as good as I could do today. All in all, fun day. I would do it again if I could! :)

You're vile; you're foul; you're flawed! Also cute and fluffy!
I woke up at 5am today for no apparent reason. It is my day off and I didn't fall asleep until almost 2 this morning. I don't understand my sleep schedule sometimes, but I did sleep for almost 12 hours yesterday, so that may have something to do with it.
I laid awake for awhile, and failed at falling back asleep. I put in Lilo & Stitch because it is what I have right now from Netflix. We went to Disney World less than a month ago, and I am a bit of a Disney freak; however, I have only seen Lilo & Stitch once, maybe twice, so I decided to watch it again. It was enjoyable and a good 5am movie.
We are going to go to Iowa City today to visit the University of Iowa Museum of Art. I am looking forward to seeing the Voom! exhibit. Also, Ian is taking me out to dinner and we may do a little bit of shopping. On our way back, we are going to stop by my parents' house so I can finally give my mom her birthday present. I haven't been able to go out to their house all week because of blizzards and high winds. Apparently their whole road is a one-lane snow tunnel. Good luck to us!

New Blog...Hi World!
I have had quite a few blogs in my lifetime. Each one has eventually passed into a state of oblivion never to be written in again. Maybe this blog will be different?
Here are a few facts about myself:
I am 20 years old (21 in less than a month)
I just graduated from college and am now in search of a real job.
I am planning on moving to Madison, WI in a few months.
I am currently working in retail, not getting enough hours, getting paid little more than minimum wage, and not enjoying it very much.
I am pretty much a loner and rarely leave my apartment on days off. I live with my boyfriend. I have quite a few friends, but they all live hours away. When I move to Madison, I will be hours further away than I am now.
I have a very close-knit family
I love art. I love music. I love movies.
I am late for work, so I will hopefully blog again soon. :)
